Large Hue Collider (2015)

Inspired by the incredible feats of scientific discovery happening with CERN's Large Hardron Collider in Europe, Branden created this interactive art piece for Lakes of Fire 2015.

Three people must simultaneously take control of the red, green, and blue virtual particles whizzing around the ring. Working together, they must steer the particles so that all three collide a single point. If they manage to do so the particles explode into a beautiful animation that encircles the whole ring. The animations themselves were created from slit scans of imagery captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.

This project was made possible through a grant from Great Lakes Experimental Arts, Inc.
